Looks good!
I would add- Discuss contractor disruptionson the block - parking in the street and leaving refuse behind, just to reiterate that we all need to stay on top of this stuff so it doesn't get out of control.

another mtg. discussion point i'd like to add is: should we make this message board password protected or leave it open to general public?

He said he estimated time of completion of Medina St townhomes would be this month. He said he was trying his best to remove debris. He said he would not block Sears St. Estimated completion of 729 Sears is 6-7 weeks upon start of construction. Construction not to begin until permits are issued. Don’t know when this will happen. Aldo is working with owner on permitting and would be able to answer many questions about permitting of project. The Paolone Park website-use it Block meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm The next Block mtg. will be held Oct. 5th

Feb. 1st Bock Meeting Notes
Please welcome our new neighbors, Danny, Brett, and Emily.
The following points were raised and discussed at last night’s meeting:
Garage property construction: Some neighbors expressed that this seems to be going okay- not too disruptive.
729 Sears: The Zoning Board meeting will be held February 13th, 9:30am at 1515 Arch Street. If you have an opinion about the construction of a third story on this property, please come to voice your opinion. If you can’t make it and would like to submit a paragraph expressing your opinion, or if you’d like to sign a petition, please see Cory.
Parking: Some neighbors expressed their unhappiness with people leaving their cars parked in Sears street. If you need to park in Sears street to unload your car, please move your car as soon as you are finished.
Casino: “Fox woods” has been approved to be built at Delaware Avenue & Reed. There is a petition circulating that asks for a change to the City of Philadelphia’s Home Rule Charter, prohibiting granting zoning to a casino within 1,500 feet of residential neighborhoods, school, religious buildings, playgrounds, parks, and convention centers. Please see Cory if you wish to sign this petition.
The Park:
-Dog poop There seems to be a lot more dog poop in the park this year, and still now in the wintertime. It was suggested at the meeting that if you see someone walking their dog in the park, ask them if they clean up after it. Although this may be uncomfortable to do, if we all did this it would let them know that we care.
-Water hook-up There was once a water hook-up at the top of the park that was used to water the park. This was removed several years ago, but there is a possibility we can get the city to hook it up again. Someone will need to look into this. Any volunteers?
-Grass It will soon be time again to purchase and plant the new grass seed for the spring. Phil was able to find a dog-pee resistant grass seed and is looking into where this can be purchased.
-Pennsylvania Horticultural Society We received a $25 certificate for winning 2nd place in the small parks category! This has been given to the treasurer and put into the park fund.
-Spring Flea Market: Last year we held a flea market on the park and those who wanted to, donated some or all of the money they made to the park fund. We raised a few hundred dollars and where able to purchase grass seed, several beautiful perennials, and mulch. Because this was such a success, we are planning to have another flea market this Spring, so start gathering together your treasures!
NEXT BLOCK MEETING will be held Thursday, March 1, 2007

April Block Meeting
Hello neighbors, Here are some topics for discussion at next month's meeting:
Block party: The warm weather is coming. Soon it will be time to enjoy it outdoors with friends and neighbors.
Flea Market: Save your treasures to sell at the Paolone Park Spring Flea Market. Proceeds can be donated to the Park Fund. Park fund can be used to make purchases for the park, like grass seed, plants, perennials, etc.
Spring Plantings: Have a favorite flower/plant you'd like to see in the park? It's nearly time to start planting.
Dog poop: There are piles in the middle of the street and throughout the park. How can we prevent it? With more signs? With fencing?
Grass Seed: It's almost time to purchase and plant the grass seed for the park. This will cost approximately $100-200. The young grass seedlings must not be stepped on until they are established.
Have any other topics to discuss? Join us at the next Block Meeting - Thursday, April 5th, 7pm

Is it just me, or have the block meetings been extra heated the last few times?
What's up with that?
Is there something could do better?
